An opportunity has arisen at NPC Huaxin in the Finance Department for a Finance Graduate in Umhlanga Head Office, reporting to the AP & Treasury Manager. The successful candidate will be exposed to and developed in all areas of Treasury and Accounts Payable Department. The successful candidate will sign a six (6) months fixed-term contract.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Processing of Creditors Invoices in SAP according to NPC group standards
  • Execution of supplier payments i.e. Local and cross border payments
  • Creditors reconciliation “as and when” required
  • Attending and resolving internal and external queries applicable to suppliers and  customers
  • Assisting with banking and Treasury related matters
  • Ensuring that GRIR report is cleared according NPC group standards
  • Ensuring that all aspects of Accounts Payables are performed according to company policy and procedures
  • Support in the closing of month-end and ensuring that deadlines are adhered to at all times
  • Support the finance team with the audit process and meeting deadlines
  • Support finance team with any other Finance ad hoc tasks.
  • Support SHEQ initiatives to achieve company SHEQ objectives. 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric or Equivalent
  • SAQA accredited Accounting related qualification
  • Knowledge of preferably SAP and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • 1 year financial environment exposure
  • Preferably in Durban and surrounding Areas

INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

Our Internship Programme gives learners on-the-job learning opportunities and aims to help you qualify and become ready for employment in our industry. It brings together practical learning, dedicated monitoring and constructive feedback.

We look for learners who are driven, possess strong work ethic and communication skills, are adaptable and willing to learn and are able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.

Internship Programme Requirements:

  • Be an unemployed South African citizen. Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged South Africans.
  • Completed a relevant qualification at a Higher Education and Training (HET) level OR completing a relevant qualification and work experience is required by your institution to obtain the qualification (a letter from the institution is required).

Our Internship Programme is offered in our two main business areas – Cement and Aggregates.

LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME

NPC’s Learnership Programme allows learners to be registered on an Artisan Development Learnership — a structured, occupationally-directed programme that leads to a qualification registered with the NQF and is trade related. This is a developmental opportunity requiring technical aptitude, interpersonal and innovative skills.

We look for candidates who are self-disciplined, willing to learn and have good communication skills.

The following trades are considered for this programme:

Learnership Programme Requirements:

  • Be an unemployed South African citizen. Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged South Africans.
  • Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics, Physical Science and English (must have passed all three).
  • Possess any of the below qualifications:
  • N2 Certificate including four relevant subjects: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawing and related Trade Theory subject.
  • Relevant Engineering NCV Certificate with seven subjects at NQF Level 4.
  • Technical Grade 11 with Mathematics, Science, Language and related Trade Theory subject.
  • Relevant N6 Certificate or National Technical Diploma (T, S or N stream).

All applicants must pass a pre-employment medical examination.

Through this programme, it’s our aim to develop a talented pipeline of skilled individuals for the main business purposes of NPC and create opportunities for unemployed learners to gain competencies in the cement industry.

BURSARY PROGRAMME

NPC’s Bursary Programme assists unemployed learners by offering them the opportunity to pursue studies in Engineering and related fields at Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges, leading to careers in those fields.

Student Bursary Requirements:

  • Be a previously disadvantaged South African with a valid South African ID.
  • Excellent academic record with 70% average.
  • Students wanting to study Engineering, Science or Technology.
  • Acceptance to an established university or tertiary education facility.
  • Must NOT be funded by NSFAS, or any other student funding.

The Following Disciplines Are Funded:

Other disciplines will be considered if you have a strong enough motivation.

The bursary award is based on the learner’s academic performance and is re-awarded for every year the learner remains enrolled, provided certain conditions are met.
